Lista med buggar rapporterade till Reavon:
ISSUES POST #1
Analog Audio Issue 1
-- While Separate HDMI is selected, analog audio-only plays from the left speakers and has a hissing sound. Only happens while separate HDMI is used. ( 2 HDMI)
-- THOUGHTS - Separate HDMI must be changing the signal path for the audio.
Analog Audio Issue 2
-- When powering up the player, the analog left and right channels pop.
-- THOUGHTS - When powering up the player, audio should be muted for at least 2 seconds to avoid power on audio pop. (This is poor, and could damage speakers without a firmware update)
HDMI Handskake / Power On
HDMI flickers when powered on, and after 5 seconds screen goes black for 2 seconds and comes back on.
-- THOUGHTS - Even happens in pure direct mode, which should not require the same handshake because it's not set to auto resolution. All resolutions that are forced should not require the HDMI handshake that auto requires. However, even auto should not make the image flicker because of a handshake.
Faint Reavon Image After 4K Playback
Tested in a blackout room. When ejected or stopping a disc, a faint Revon image is displayed on the screen. This looks like a bug to me, I don't think we are supposed to see this.
On Spears and Munsil HDR Benchmark Using 4:4:4 Color Space
After playing Dolby Vision demo material, it goes back to the menu in HDR10 (like it's supposed to) but there's banding when using 4:4:4. Does not happen in 4:2:2.
-- THOUGHTS - This suggests to me that the player is not going back to 10-bit color, but going back to 8-bit color. I believe Oppo Player had the same issue using a MediaTek Chipset.
Home Button Locked on Playback Issue
Home Button is unusable when pressed and a movie is playing.
Stop Button Issue
Pressing the stop button on the remote pauses the movie, pressing stop again stops the movie playing. This feels like a bug.
SACD Issue 1 (CD Player)
The Player froze while playing an SACD and pressing setup. The player hard-locked and became unresponsive. I had to turn the player off to gain functionality back.
-- THOUGHTS - The pressing of certain buttons seems to randomly hard-lock (freeze) the player (this needs to be firmware updated)
SACD Issue 2 - Hybrid Detection Issue
Gave the wrong info type when using a hybrid disc (CD and SACD). The Player said it was playing CD, but the receiver said it was playing DSD, which is SACD.
CD & SACD Track Information
No album name or band name can be found on retail discs (not ripped). Just says, unknown artist. (Can this be firmware updated to pull information from the disc or online?)
USB Issue 1 - Response Time
The player becomes unresponsive for some time after inserting a USB for video files. Takes too long to register video files in the player. Too slow.
USB Issue 2 - Aspect Ratio Issue
Didn't play video from a USB in the correct aspect ratio. Playing 2:35:1 Dune trailer mp4 file, played in stretched 16:9. This removed the 2:35:1 black bars.
-- NOTES - Issues fixed, this is because the default behavior of the player is set to "TV SCREEN - 16:9 FULL". In my opinion, this is the wrong setting to be chosen by default. The best setting is "TV SCREEN - 16:9 NORMAL".
USB Issue 3 - Cannot Play HDR10 From USB???
Can't play HDR content from a USB, is this a bug? The file wasn't recognized by the player.
Disc Drive Issue 1
Pressing open or close on the remote can double press, and open and close the disc tray a 2nd time. (This could be my player) Also, sometimes my disc drive will not open, it tries but something is blocking it.
Disc Drive Issue 2 (Unresponsive Issue)
Sometimes, pressing the eject button on the actual player doesn't register button presses. After pressing the eject button 3 times, the player did nothing, then decided to open and close the tray 3 times in a row. Like, button presses were delayed.
DISCS WORTH TESTING FOR PLAYBACK ISSUES
-- Some of these discs had Dolby Vision Playback issues on the Panasonic UB9000 and will be worth testing on the Reavon X-200.
"Knives Out" (at 2:01:24)
"Midway" (at 37:17 & 39:26)
"(1995) Ghost in the Shell" flickering, strobing effect during playback
"Farmageddon" - Needs Testing
"Donnie Darko" - Theatrical Cut
"Indiana Jones the Last Crusade" potential Playback stuttering issues
"A Quiet Place" Best Buy SteelBook Only - Issues with disc playback
"Spears and Munsil" - Going from Dolby Vision to HDR10 causes 8-bit color depth
ISSUES POST #2
Incorrect Volume Control "Manual Information"
This is from the manual "On the UBR-X200, the volume control only affects the analog audio output. It does not apply to digital audio output (HDMI, Coaxial, and Optical) either in raw bitstream format or in PCM
format."
-- This statement from the manual is incorrect. You can change the volume using HDMI. On the Oppo this could not be done, and I assumed that on HDMI you could not change Volume control, but you can.
Switching the Player from Auto to Enforce Dolby Vision Issue.
Changed the setting, played a 4K, and the player hard-locked (froze). I had to turn the power off to gain functionality back.
When loading a 4K disc (Look and feel Feedback)
This is a look as feel issue. You see a green spindle in the top right corner to tell the user that the disc is being read, I don't think it looks good.
Always on Display (Look and feel Feedback)
When I pause a movie, there is no way to turn off the pause button on the top left of the screen. If this can be changed it would be nice.
General Stability
I think right now, the general stability of the player is in a poor state. Most things, like random button presses, can or could cause the player to hard lock (freeze). Buttons that you might not press, like, going into a USB menu, and pressing the number 1 on the remote control. This didn't happen, but it's an example of things that happen with the player right now. This is all software bugs and can be fixed with a firmware update, but are very difficult to test, but I could try and replicate the issue and next time I try it will not hardlock (freeze) the player. The player right now has intermittent issues that need to be corrected with a firmware update, this may take time, I understand. But I want to help as much as possible to get this ironed out quickly.
ISSUES POST #3
HDMI 2 Outputs Home Screen Video Until Handshake
-- HDMI 2 is for audio-only, but I have an HDMI plugged into my receiver, and I have my receiver plugged into HDMI 2 on my LG OLED TV. The TV was set to HDMI 2. I turned on the Reavon Player and the Home Screen was displayed for 5 seconds. The handshake took place, and the image went black.
(This is a bug, no video should ever come from HDMI 2.)
